چکیده

2. APPLICATION TO NHANES: CORRECTION OF VARIABLE DEFINITION The main manuscript stated that loge(average no. drinks per day + 1) was used as covariate in the model of interest in the analysis of data from NHANES. This was incorrect: loge(average no. drinks per day) was used as covariate. For the ACC and MI estimators, the number of drinks minus one was imputed using negative binomial regression. Lastly, it was not stated in the manuscript, but should have been, that BMI was centred at 25 kg/m2.

Improving upon the efficiency of complete case analysis when covariates are MNAR

Missing values in covariates of regression models are a pervasive problem in empirical research. Popular approaches for analyzing partially observed datasets include complete case analysis (CCA), multiple imputation (MI), and inverse probability weighting (IPW). In the case of missing covariate values, these methods (as typically implemented) are valid under different missingness assumptions. I...

Missing covariates in competing risks analysis

Studies often follow individuals until they fail from one of a number of competing failure types. One approach to analyzing such competing risks data involves modeling the cause-specific hazards as functions of baseline covariates. A common issue that arises in this context is missing values in covariates. In this setting, we first establish conditions under which complete case analysis (CCA) i...

On the covariate-adjusted estimation for an overall treatment difference with data from a randomized comparative clinical trial.

To estimate an overall treatment difference with data from a randomized comparative clinical study, baseline covariates are often utilized to increase the estimation precision. Using the standard analysis of covariance technique for making inferences about such an average treatment difference may not be appropriate, especially when the fitted model is nonlinear. On the other hand, the novel aug...

A particular diffusion model for incomplete longitudinal data: application to the multicenter AIDS cohort study.

Longitudinal studies, in which individuals are measured repeatedly in time, are often incomplete. We model continuous-time longitudinal data from the Multicenter AIDS Cohort Study using a diffusion model in which the diffusion parameters are functions of the covariates. These data are jointly modeled with the process of time-to-death due to AIDS. We show that, even for large data sets with a la...

Analyzing incomplete longitudinal clinical trial data.

Using standard missing data taxonomy, due to Rubin and co-workers, and simple algebraic derivations, it is argued that some simple but commonly used methods to handle incomplete longitudinal clinical trial data, such as complete case analyses and methods based on last observation carried forward, require restrictive assumptions and stand on a weaker theoretical foundation than likelihood-based ...
